The context
A short from a creator I respect, re-imagined end-to-end as a spec piece. Same source material, different discipline. Framed respectfully: this is a study, not a correction.
The ask
Show what ‘crafted, not edited’ means in practice.
The key decision
Research first, cut second. I rebuilt the story structure around what the audience actually needed to understand, then filled the visual gaps with AI-generated footage where no coverage existed. The AI isn’t the point. It’s what lets one person produce full coverage alone.
The outcome
A side-by-side before/after that shows the gap between editing footage and crafting a story.
